ESRI Software Site License
The University of Wyoming has established an annual site license for software
produced by Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc.
(ESRI). This includes ArcView, ARC/Info,
ArcGIS, as well as ESRI's IMS (Internet Map Service) products. All products
are listed below, with links containing descriptions, system requirements,
and other information.
These products may be installed on any computer owned by the
University of Wyoming.

If you are wondering if you have any use for this software, here is a brief
introduction to the technology. There is a more
detailed introduction to GIS at www.gis.com
which includes examples of applications across a broad range of fields.
Training courses (from 1 to 3 days) are available at the University of Wyoming for ArcGIS.
University staff/students can also take free Virtual Campus courses on-line to learn about GIS and how to use ESRI's GIS software products. Please contact

Spatial data for Wyoming, in ArcView and ARC/INFO format, is available through the
Wyoming Geographic Information Science Center's Data Clearinghouse.
The clearinghouse features data for Wyoming including: roads, cities, streams/lakes,
political boundaries, elevation, digital aerial photography, and many other themes.
ESRI's Arc Data is also
available to download, including world datasets, USA datasets, and other
sample data.
