Professional Training
Our mission is to advance the use of geographic information science (GISci)
at the University of Wyoming by furthering GISci education and training at
all academic levels, by pursuing basic and applied research in GISci, and by
using GISci technologies for problem-solving within the University and
throughout the State and region.
WyGISC has been providing GISci professionals with flexible and
comprehensive training for over ten years. We are proud to be an
ESRI Authorized Partner Education Center. This designation means is that
WyGISC meets ESRI standards for quality and content and we are approved to
offer ESRI courses.
Professional Short Courses
WyGISC short courses provide intensive training for GISci related
technology and associated software. Courses range in length from one to five
days. Courses can either be held on-site or remotely with our mobile
teaching lab. WyGISC also develops custom courses to fit the specific
training needs.

GIS Certificate
The WyGISC Certificate in GIS has been developed with a goal to
provide our students a technician level of knowledge and skills in the use
and application of ESRI ArcGIS software products. Students will learn
fundamental GIS concepts, and methodology needed to support GIS project
operations that can be employed in a variety of areas of public and private
sectors.
Free Workshops
Periodically WyGISC offers GISci or Remote Sensing related
workshops to fill special needs in the GIS community.
Geospatial Forum
The Geospatial Forum is a weekly presentation that showcases GISci or remote
sensing technology.
Virtual Campus Courses
Affiliates of the University of Wyoming are eligible to enroll in
ESRI's Virtual Campus. This program offers a variety of online courses
on ESRI software and GISci technology.
