Content of the Natural Resources Data Clearinghouse
Most of the data in this clearinghouse has been compiled by individual
projects at the University of Wyoming. In spring 1998, the WYGISC conducted
a survey of University of Wyoming projects and research
utilizing spatial technologies and producing/using spatial datasets, organized
into six categories: botanical/ecological; land-use/agricultural; educational;
geological/industry; water-related and zoological. Data from some of these
projects have been made available through this clearinghouse for download.
Preliminary metadata for other datasets will be available through the Clearinghouse's
search tool, providing contact
information and background about datasets that are not yet available on-line.
The clearinghouse also serves natural resource data from outside organizations/agencies
affiliated with the University such as the Bureau of Land Management, the
Natural Resources Conservation Service, and the Forest Service.
